I have run the MS health check for system requirements to upgrade my PC from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and it passed. I never get the offer when I do security updates; why?

Hi, I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.
If PC Health Check is saying that your system supports Windows 11, you can use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant to upgrade.

If PC Health Check says the device is eligible but Windows Update is not offering Windows 11, the most common reasons are:

    1. Staged rollout and safeguard holds
Windows 11 is rolled out gradually. Even if hardware is compatible, Microsoft may delay the offer based on “intelligence models” (hardware eligibility, reliability metrics, device age, and known issues).
Additionally, if a compatibility issue (for example, a driver or app problem) has been identified for that specific device, a compatibility safeguard hold can temporarily block the upgrade until the issue is resolved. In that case, Windows Update will not offer Windows 11 yet.
    2. Windows Update eligibility info not refreshed
After any hardware or configuration changes (like enabling TPM/Secure Boot or changing disks), it can take up to 24 hours for Windows Update to refresh eligibility. During that time, PC Health Check may show the device as ready while Windows Update has not updated its status yet.
    3. Windows 10 version or update state
To upgrade directly via Windows Update, the PC should be running Windows 10 version 2004 or later with current updates installed. If the system is on an older version or missing updates, Windows 11 may not be offered until Windows 10 is updated first.
    4. Managed or IT‑admin controlled devices
If the PC is managed by an IT administrator (for example, in a work or school environment), policies may block or delay the Windows 11 offer. In that case, upgrade options are controlled by the administrator.

If an immediate upgrade is desired and the device is confirmed compatible by PC Health Check, Windows 11 can be installed using one of the supported manual methods:

    • Windows Update (recommended when it appears):
Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates. When Microsoft is ready to offer the upgrade, a banner such as “Upgrade to Windows 11” with Download and install will appear.
    • Windows 11 Installation Assistant:
If Windows Update still does not offer Windows 11 but PC Health Check shows the device as eligible, the Windows 11 Installation Assistant can be used to upgrade before the offer appears in Windows Update. Download it from the Windows 11 software download page and follow the on‑screen steps. The assistant will again verify hardware requirements and then perform the upgrade if the device is eligible.

If the device ultimately does not meet the minimum system requirements, Windows Update will not offer Windows 11 and the recommendation is to remain on Windows 10 (supported through October 14, 2025) or move to a new Windows 11 PC.
