The meeting I created has disappeared from my calendar. I have not deleted or cancelled the meeting. It is not in my deleted folder and the meeting is still visible on other attendee's calendar?

    Hi Tyron Cranston,

If the meeting is still visible on attendees’ calendars but missing from yours as the organizer, this can occur when the organizer copy was hidden, moved by a rule, or ended up outside the main calendar view.

Please try the following quick checks in Outlook.com (web):

    • Calendar search: Use the Calendar search bar to look for the meeting by subject, attendee name, or location.
    • Recoverable Items (not just Deleted Items): Open Deleted Items, then select Recover items deleted from this folder at the top and restore anything related to the meeting. In some cases, items may no longer appear in Deleted Items but are still recoverable here.
    • Calendar view / filters: Make sure you’re viewing the correct calendar and that no filters or view settings are hiding items (including private items, if applicable).
    • Check rules: Go to Settings (gear) > Mail > Rules and review any rules that move meeting invites or updates to other folders, as this can sometimes affect how meeting updates are processed.

If the meeting still doesn’t appear: You can ask an attendee to forward the meeting to you as an .ICS file (for recurring meetings, be sure they send the full series). Opening and saving the ICS will restore the meeting to your calendar.

If you can share whether the meeting is single or recurring, and whether Calendar search finds anything, I can help narrow down the best next step.

Please let me know if this proves useful to you, or if you would like further assistance.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

For a meeting that still appears on attendees’ calendars but no longer shows on the organizer’s calendar, this matches a known Outlook issue where meetings can go missing from the organizer’s MAPI-based calendar.

Because the meeting still exists for attendees, it can be recovered by giving control of the meeting back to the organizer using an .ICS file from one of the attendees.

Follow these steps with one of the attendees:

    1. Ask an attendee to send the meeting back as an .ICS file
      • On the attendee’s calendar, open the affected meeting.
      • Have them either:
        • Use Forward as iCalendar / FWD as ICS and send it to the organizer, or
        • Use File → Save As, save the meeting as an .ics file, attach that file to an email, and send it to the organizer.
      • If it is a recurring meeting, ensure they send the entire series, not just a single occurrence.
    2. Modify the ICS file on the organizer’s computer
      • Save the attached .ics file locally.
      • Open the .ics file in Notepad (or another text editor).
      • Find the line:
             METHOD:REQUEST

      • Change it to:
             METHOD:PUBLISH

      • Save the file.
    3. Restore control of the meeting
      • Double-click the modified .ics file so it opens in Outlook.
      • Outlook will now show a cancellation button for that meeting.
      • Use this to send a cancellation or otherwise regain control as needed.

This workaround is specifically recommended for cases where meetings are missing from the organizer’s calendar but still present on attendees’ calendars.
