    Hi,

If you have already tried re-adding your account on the Outlook app for your mobile, please try to clear the cache and data of your Outlook app on your mobile, then restart. Try to log in again and observe for a few hours if it has already synced the emails.

If the issue persists, please check if there is an update for the Outlook app.

If it is already updated but remains the same, please try to reinstall the app.

    • Uninstall the Outlook > restart your phone > install the app.
    • Observe for a few hours to see if it has already synced the emails.

If you need more assistance, please let me know.

    Stay Safe!

Follow these steps to troubleshoot Outlook on iPhone when email works on the laptop but not on the phone:

    1. Check Outlook.com service status
      • If using an Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, or MSN address, first confirm there is no service outage by checking the Outlook.com server status as described in the Outlook for iOS setup article. If there is an outage, wait for it to be resolved.
    2. Verify the account itself is healthy
      • If email works on the laptop, the account is generally fine, but if sending/receiving is failing everywhere, check for:
        • Full mailbox or cloud storage, which blocks sending and receiving. Use the mailbox storage page referenced in the Outlook.com article to confirm usage.
        • Any account block due to unusual sign-in activity and follow the steps to unblock the Outlook.com account if needed.
    3. Fix sync issues between iPhone and mailbox
      • If only the iPhone is affected, remove and re-create the device/mailbox partnership:
        1. On the iPhone, remove the Outlook account from the Outlook app (or from iOS Mail if using that instead).
        2. In the Outlook.com guidance, follow the “fix email sync issues by removing a device from your Outlook mailbox” steps to clear the old device partnership.
        3. Add the account back into the Outlook app for iOS using the standard add-account flow.
    4. Check filters, junk, and rules (if mail appears only on laptop)
      • In Outlook.com (via browser on the laptop):
        • Check the Other tab and any filters so messages are not hidden.
        • Check Junk Email settings and the Junk Email folder; if valid messages are there, mark them as Not junk so they return to Inbox.
        • Check for email rules that might be moving or hiding messages, and disable any unexpected rules.
        • Check if email forwarding is enabled and turn it off if not desired.
    5. Confirm mobile app configuration
      • If using a non-Microsoft mail app on the iPhone instead of Outlook:
        • Ensure the app supports modern authentication with IMAP/POP/SMTP as required in the modern authentication article.
        • If IMAP or POP are enabled and causing issues, disable them and use the Outlook.com account type or the Outlook mobile app instead.
      • If Outlook for iOS is already in use and still has setup or sync issues, use the in-app support option described in the Outlook for iOS setup article (Contact Support) for chat-based help.
    6. If the account was recently set up and cannot send
      • For a newly created Outlook.com account used in Outlook for iOS, make sure the account has been verified by clicking the verification email in the Inbox as described in the “I am just setting up an Outlook.com account and I'm unable to send email” article.

If, after these steps, email still only works on the laptop and not on the iPhone, follow the “Troubleshoot Outlook mobile issues” article to remove and re-add the account and, if needed, contact in-app support from Outlook for iOS.
