For a damaged or unreadable Microsoft gift card code, support must be contacted directly; self-service refund or replacement is not handled through Microsoft Teams.

Key points from the Microsoft gift card terms:

    • If a Microsoft account is closed by Microsoft, any remaining non‑promotional balance may be refunded where required by law, but the cost of an unredeemed physical gift card itself is not refunded.
    • If a gift card has not been redeemed and the account is closed, the cost of that physical gift card is not refunded.
    • For any questions or disputes about gift card purchases or use of account balance, Microsoft Customer Support must be contacted.

    Recommended steps:

    1. Keep the physical card and purchase receipt from the shop.
    2. Contact the retailer where the card was purchased and ask if they can assist or replace the card, since the damage occurred on the physical card itself.
    3. If the retailer cannot help, contact Microsoft Customer Support and open a case about a damaged/unreadable Microsoft gift card code. Be prepared to provide:
      • Clear photos of the front and back of the card
      • Proof of purchase (receipt)
      • Any visible parts of the code

Customer Support can review whether anything can be done under the applicable terms and local law.
