Hi, thank you for your reply. Yes, that is another way to address the issue. For now, I suggest waiting for the next Windows update.
Crashes from KB5079473 March 11 2026 update to WIN11
The latest security update to Win 11 (11th March 2026) KB5079473 has caused my computer to fully crash 3 times. I have unloaded but it tries to reload. The crashes required a complete reboot of the computer with loss of unsaved data.
How do I stop it reloading?

2026-03-16T01:59:17.4766667+00:00 This all been but confirmed by Microsoft themselves. Just like a previous update where they were slow to admit fault. This is a bad update and needs to be blocked by everyone. It's not just crashing PCs its taken over Video drivers and making expensive video cards catch fire and burn up. So make sure you block KB5079473 March 11 2026 update and shut off your windows updates for as long as you can.

2026-03-16T06:57:53.1366667+00:00 It appears that my Minidump file was not the issue. So I have blocked updates for one month. Hopefully Microsoft fixes the problems by then. Can they also make the updates optional so we can install them at leisure once we are kind of sure that it is safe?

2026-03-12T04:13:45.07+00:00 Hi, I'm Bernard, a fellow Windows user. I'm happy to help!
The KB5079473 is a security update patch for the PC, since your PC is crashing. Can you please check if you have Minidump files on the PC so I can further examine the root cause of the issue?
Press Windows key + E (To open File Explorer)
Click "This PC" > then follow the file path:
C:\Windows\Minidump
Copy the Minidump files and save them to another location, like the Desktop or Documents.
Then please upload it to Cloud storage like OneDrive or any cloud storage you are using, and please share the shareable link here.
To upload and share the link using OneDrive:
Go to this link: https://onedrive.live.com/, then upload the file.
