The latest security update to Win 11 (11th March 2026) KB5079473 has caused my computer to fully crash 3 times. I have unloaded but it tries to reload. The crashes required a complete reboot of the computer with loss of unsaved data.

How do I stop it reloading?

Hi, thank you for your reply. Yes, that is another way to address the issue. For now, I suggest waiting for the next Windows update.

Folks, this update KB5079473 completely crashed my HP Laptop. The update corrupted my hard drive and devices and even hid them so deep that no MS utility tools could be used to repair Windows. Or even re-install Windows for that matter! In short, my laptop was stuck in a loop and would not boot up. Even when using a boot up USB. This cost me several days to resolve! And all crickets from Microsoft! Microsoft should be held legally accountable for releasing an unvetted update that negatively impacted countless users. F this caca and F Microsoft! I'm buying Mac Book next!

This update totally crashed my HP laptop. Its now stuck in a loop and absolutely no way to get to a blue screen. I even tried a reboot disk on a USB but so much damage has been done …command prompts won’t even work due to internal HDD being hidden and drivers corrupted! We should file a class action lawsuit against Microsoft for willful negligence!

    (KB5079473) (26200.8037) update gives a fatal error!

    Hypervisor_ERROR

DO NOT INSTALL THIS UPDATE... avoid it, remove it, if it gives "installation error", leave like that... you have just missed a bullet. if you get the Hyperviros error, go in the cmd as administrator and paste the command "bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off", then restart the pc.
