The name used when registering for a Microsoft Certification exam must exactly match the first and last name on the government-issued ID presented on exam day. If the registered last name differs from what appears on the ID (for example, using a father’s name as last name vs. an initial on the ID), this can be treated as a name mismatch and the test center may not allow the exam.

To avoid issues, contact Pearson VUE or Microsoft Certification support before the exam to correct the registration name so it matches the ID exactly, or request an exception if applicable.
