When will a fix for Microsoft Hello camera be available?

When will the Windows 11 Hello problem with the camera be fixed? My Lenovo Yoga has stopped logging me in with facial recognition. This is extremely annoying!!

    Hi Alan,
    If it happened this week, it may be due to latest updates released on Tuesday.

    To remove the most recent update, please follow these steps to access the Windows Recovery environment:

    1. Open the Settings app by pressing the Win + I keys.
    2. Navigate to System > Recovery.
    3. Click the ""Restart Now"" button next to Advanced Startup.
    4. Choose the Troubleshoot option.
    5. Select ""Uninstall Updates,"" then choose either ""Uninstall Latest Quality Update"" or ""Uninstall Latest Cumulative Update.""

    Allow the process to complete.

    Hi Alan, Lenovo Yoga 7 2‑in‑1 14AKP10 (Type 83JR) does not support Windows Hello Face as I see. Did it used to work before?

    Dear Alan Dennes

    I understand how inconvenient this is, especially when Windows Hello facial recognition was previously working and you now need to sign in manually each time. 

    To help narrow down, could you please let us know the following: 

    • Did the issue start after a recent Windows Update or Lenovo driver / firmware update? 
    • Does the built-in Camera app open and show video normally?  
    • Is there any privacy shutter / camera cover on the Lenovo Yoga, and is it fully open during sign-in?  
    • Does Windows Hello show any specific message? 
    • Are you able to sign in with your PIN and then go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Facial recognition (Windows Hello) to see whether “Improve recognition” or “Set up” is available?  

    In the meantime, you may try the following steps: 

    1. Make sure the camera is fully visible during sign-in 
    • If your Lenovo has a physical privacy shutter or any camera cover, please make sure it is completely open. 
    1. Test in a brighter environment 
    • Please try signing in in a well-lit room, facing the screen directly.  
    1. Use Improve recognition or remove and set up Face again 
    • Please sign in with your PIN first, then go to: Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Facial recognition (Windows Hello) 
    • Try Improve recognition first 
    • If needed, remove Face recognition and set it up again afterward 
    1. Confirm the camera works in Windows 
    • Open the Camera app and check whether the camera preview opens correctly.  
    1. Run the Windows camera troubleshooter 
    • Please using the Camera troubleshooter in the Get Help app for Windows 11 camera-related issues. 
    1. Check Windows Update and Lenovo updates 
    • Please check for Windows Update, Optional driver updates and Lenovo driver / firmware / BIOS updates for your exact Yoga model

    Hi Alan,

    There is no widespread issue like that. Let us see what we can do.

    Please supply the following Information.

    Right-click the Start button and Choose the Run option

    Type in msinfo32

    Press enter.

    Take a screenshot of the System Summary window and post it in the next reply.
