how to save a ppt

went to new ppt templates and there is no option to "save"

I would like to provide you with the following information

If you are using PowerPoint on the web, this version does not have a Save button, as the file is automatically saved to the cloud.

You can select the icon below to check where the file is currently saved:

Additionally, if you would like to save the file to your computer or open it using the PowerPoint desktop app, you can select the three-dot ( … ) icon.

In case you are using the PowerPoint desktop version, please share a screenshot so I can assist you more effectively and accurately.

In the desktop PowerPoint app on Windows, use the File menu to save; the “New” templates gallery does not show a Save button.

To save a new presentation:

1. Create the presentation from a template (File > New, pick a template).
2. Go to File > Save As (or Save a Copy in Microsoft 365).
3. Choose the folder where the file should be stored.
4. In File name, enter a name.
5. In Save as type, choose the format, for example:
   • PowerPoint Presentation (*.pptx) for a standard file
   • PowerPoint Template (*.potx) if saving as a reusable template
6. Select Save.

If working in PowerPoint for the web, there is no Save button because changes are saved automatically to the cloud. To save a copy locally, use the command described in “Save a copy of your presentation with PowerPoint for the web.”

To save as a template specifically:

1. Open the presentation.
2. Select File > Save As (or Save a Copy).
3. In Save as type, choose PowerPoint Template.
4. Confirm the suggested Custom Office Templates folder or choose another location.
5. Enter a file name and select Save.
