Azure Spring Cloud Pricing

I try to understand Azure Spring Cloud Pricing Structure which has base unit price. Does that mean no matter how long you run the application on Azure Spring Cloud or how much CPU/memory consumption, you will get the charge of at least base unit price? For instance, if you use basic plan and the least configuration for 1 hour, you still get the charge of base unit price?

Hello, @PanQinhongCTR-9162!

The Azure Price Calculator makes visualizing this a lot easier. We can see from the Azure Spring Cloud pricing page that for the Basic tier, 2 vCPUs and 4 GB of memory are included. Your base price won't change regardless of how many hours you use as long as you stay within the limit of base vCPUs and base memory as this is a flat cost (1 hour would cost as much as 730):

20 Hours (2 vCPUs / 4 GB memory)

730 Hours (2 vCPUs / 4 GB memory)

Once you start adding additional vCPUs and memory above the included vCPU and memory for each tier, then you'll see an increased cost per hour (this shows up as vCPU overage and memory overage):

20 Hours (5 vCPUs / 10 GB memory)

730 Hours (5 vCPUs / 10 GB memory)

Thanks for the explanation. Consider following scenarios,

Basic plan, base unit of Azure Spring Cloud resource created, but no application deployed for two months. What will be the cost?

Basic plan, base unit of Azure Spring Cloud resource created. One application deployed there and runs for 1 hr. Then Azure Spring Cloud resource removed. After that, base unit of Azure Spring Cloud resource created again with same basic plan and one application deployed there again and runs for 1 hr. Then resource removed again. All happens within one month period. What will be the cost?

Hello again, @chans!

My understanding based on the Price Calculator is that there is a base unit price for 0 hours but I would verify that with Azure Sales as they'll be able to give you more accurate pricing information:

Going off of that understanding, there would be a monthly charge of the base unit price in both scenarios. In the first scenario, 2 months would be used and billed and in the second scenario 1 month would be used and billed (plus any vCPU or memory overages). I would follow up with Azure Sales to confirm this.
