Hello John,
Wow! I am impress (it's pretty old software) and it's probably not comp table with new windows 10/11.
***Make Sure that your Anti-Virus not blocking the software
To attempt to make it work: use (Compatibility Mode)
- Right Click the progream
- Properties (Show more options >> Properties)
- Open (Compatibility) Tab
- Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows 7 or XP. Check "Run this program as an administrator".
If the above doesn't work (Installing the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and C++ Redistributables
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5: https://www.microsoft.com/en-eg/download/details.aspx?id=21
- Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170 >> Install (x86 & x64) for each year (from 2005 up to the latest) >> Click on each .exe file from the page and download it & install each single one >> you may download +10 files or so (take your time installing all of them)
Extras: I found out community forum called "Eileen's Lounge" {where users of legacy Print Shop versions share the specific executable}
If you are facing a printing problem:
- Restart Print Spooler: If the app hangs when trying to print, press Win + R, type services.msc, find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart
- Print to PDF: If direct printing fails, try using "Microsoft Print to PDF." You can then print that PDF file using a modern app
Hard Solutions: Using (otvdm or virtual machine) to emulate old OS and run it
If you have CD:
- Insert it
- Open Windows Explorer & Open CD Files
- Look for a folder named Support, Extras, or Utilities (you might find fixes there).
*** Make sure to Re-Install the Software & Repeat the steps if required ***
Final Recommendation:
Consider Other Modern Options: {Microsoft Designer, Canva, Adobe Express, Printful, Printify, VistaPrint, Libre Office} OR AI {you can generate cards in seconds}
