I recently updated my Zoom app. Normally, the app updates the default status itself, but this time the :"mailto" link was defaulted to Outlook instead. How do I correct the situation?

Hi! If the update changed the handler, you can switch it back in Windows Default apps. Open Settings > Apps > Default apps, then either search for your preferred mail app or open Choose defaults by link type / by protocol and look for MAILTO. Change the current app from Outlook to the one you want to use for email links.
I don't want to replace the "mailto" app; I want to get rid of it and let Zoom open the conversation files like it used to.
You mentioned that this may be happening because the default app for the MAILTO protocol changed to Outlook. If that is the case, the solution would be to change the default app back to Zoom, which is why I shared those steps. However, if that is not actually the issue, could you please explain what kind of links you are trying to open with Zoom?
If possible, please also share a screenshot of what you see when the issue happens. That would help to better understand the problem and guide you with the correct steps.
I resolved the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling Zoom. All is well now.
