Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.
My computer connect to the internet via a dongle to my router. -
1. When you say “dongle to my router”, how exactly is the dongle connected? Is it plugged into the router or into the computer?
2. Is your computer using the USB dongle as a Wi-Fi connection to the router, or is it sharing the dongle’s internet to the router through an Ethernet cable?
Also, may I please know if you have already reinstalled the Wi-Fi adapter on your device?
- Open the Device Manager.
- Expand the arrow next to Network adapters.
- Right-click your default Wi-Fi adapter, select Uninstall device, select 'Attempt to remove the driver software for this device' check box, and click Uninstall.
- Once uninstalled, restart your computer.
- Then go to Network & Internet settings > Click Manage Known networks > remove all previous network connections, then try adding your dongle Wi-Fi network.
Note - Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers during this restart.
If you are still having issues,
Click Windows + R key, type services.msc, and click ok.
Locate the WLAN AutoConfig (Wlansvc) service, which is running, and the startup type is set to 'Automatic'.
Let me know if you still need more help.
