Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Support emails about expiration or renewal can arrive late or overlap with a recent renewal. The key is the status shown in the Microsoft account, not the email.
Do these checks and actions:
- Confirm the subscription is active
- Close all Office apps.
- Go to the Subscriptions page and sign in with the same account shown on the invoice and in the email.
- Under Microsoft 365 Family, check the status:
- If it shows a renewal/next charge date in the future or “Has recurring billing”, the subscription is active and the “expired” email can be ignored.
- If it shows “Expires on [date]” that is already past, the renewal did not complete and support is needed.
- If Office apps still show subscription warnings
- Close all Office applications.
- Open one Office app again.
- If prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account used on the Subscriptions page.
- If a yellow bar such as “Renew your subscription” still appears, close the apps again and reopen. This clears the old warning after a successful renewal.
- Make sure payment and renewal are correct
- Go to the Payment & billing page.
- Verify the Microsoft 365 Family order dated 09 March 2026 shows as completed and that only one charge appears.
- Check whether recurring billing is turned on or off so the next renewal behaves as expected.
- If the status or charges look wrong, or if there is any risk of double charge
- Use the official support channel to have an agent check the account and billing and, if needed, request a refund or correction:
- Go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus
- Sign in with the account that owns the subscription.
- Choose to contact support for Microsoft 365 Family/Personal and follow the prompts (chat or call-back) to explain that renewal was done on 09 March 2026 but an “expired” email arrived later and that a second charge must not be taken.
- Use the official support channel to have an agent check the account and billing and, if needed, request a refund or correction:
These steps rely on the online subscription status and billing history, which are the authoritative sources. The “expired” email alone does not mean a second payment will be taken if the subscription already shows as active.
