Download Microsoft 365 Personal to my computer

I cannot download my Microsoft 365 Personal plan that I purchased onto my computer. My organization's 365, which is a separate account and only allows the 365 web-version for me, interferes.

I had a home version of Office on my Mac; however, I need to upgrade my personal work to Microsoft 365.

To install the Microsoft 365 Personal subscription on the Mac without interference from the organization’s Microsoft 365 account, use the personal account that is associated with the Microsoft 365 Personal purchase and install from there.

    1. Sign out of any work or school Microsoft 365 accounts in all Office apps and in the browser.
    2. In a browser on the Mac, go to https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps.
    3. Sign in with the Microsoft account that is linked to the Microsoft 365 Personal subscription (not the organization/work account).
    4. After signing in with the personal Microsoft account, on the Microsoft 365 Apps page select Install apps, then select Install to download the installer for the desktop apps.
    5. Run the downloaded installer package on the Mac and follow the prompts to complete installation.
    6. When any Office app starts for the first time, if prompted to sign in, use the same personal Microsoft account so the apps activate with the Microsoft 365 Personal license instead of the organization’s web-only account.

If the Mac is running an unsupported operating system version, the installation can fail. In that case, check the supported systems on the Microsoft 365 system requirements page linked from the installation help article, or use the free Microsoft 365 apps in the browser if the OS cannot be upgraded.
