    Hi Brian,

Setupprod_offscrub.exe can be downloaded from https://www.aka.ms/diag_officeuninstall. However, it redirects you to the Get Help portal instead.

    enter image description here

So, if you want to uninstall Office, use the following link.

    https://aka.ms/SaRA-officeUninstallFromPC

Click Open if you get a pop-up window indicating This site is trying to open Get Help.

Follow the prompts on the remaining screens and when prompted, restart your computer.

setupprod_offscrub.exe is the Office uninstall/support tool. To actually download and run it on Windows, use these steps:

    1. Close all Office apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
    2. Go to the official Microsoft support page that provides the Office Support and Recovery Assistant / uninstall tool (the page that keeps redirecting to instructions).
    3. On that page, select the option to download the uninstall or Support and Recovery tool. This should download a file named setupprod_offscrub.exe (or similar) to the browser’s default download location (usually the Downloads folder).
    4. In the browser, choose Open file / Run when prompted, or open File ExplorerDownloads and double‑click setupprod_offscrub.exe.
    5. If prompted by User Account Control with “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”, select Yes.
    6. Follow the on‑screen wizard to select the Office products to remove and complete the process.
    7. When finished, restart the computer if the tool requests it, then reinstall Office using the normal installer or the offline installer if needed.

If the browser keeps opening the instruction page instead of downloading the file, check:

    • That pop‑ups or downloads are not being blocked by the browser or security software.
    • Try another browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox) and repeat the download.

After uninstalling with setupprod_offscrub.exe, reinstall Office (for example, using the standard or offline installer) and then activate and update it as described in the documentation:

    1. Run the Office installer and complete setup.
    2. Open Word or Excel, go to File > Account to confirm activation.
    3. Select Update Options > Update Now to get the latest updates.
