How can I make my personal Github account to recognize the Miscrosoft Github Foundations Credential?

I just passed my Github Foundations Certification using MS Learning, completed all the labs, the theory, then I schedule my Exam through the proctored onVue platform.

Turns out my Github account doesn't recognize it, so in https://learn.github.com/dashboard I can't see my recent approved credential. My main email in github was not from Microsoft, but the one I used to get this cred is linked to Github as a secondary email. After I passed the exam I immediatly changed my primary email on Github to match my Microsoft's account. My @outlook email had always been linked to my Github account, just not as primary, however, I reiterate, I have now put my @outlook account as primary, although this was never mentioned as a caveat or as a mandatory requirement in order to synced both platforms.

Can you help me fix this? As Microsoft is the official medium to take this certification/badge.

I do see my badge and certification in Microsoft Learn platform, but not Github's.

    Hi Christian,

Thank you for reaching out Microsoft QA forum. Appreciate for explaining your issue.

This could be caused by a sync delay on your Github and Microsoft Learn. Since you have already did the requirements, the syncing may take up to 24-48 hours. And if the issue still persists after the waiting time, I highly suggest you reach out to Microsoft Credentials Support to assist you further. Please visit: Microsoft Credentials Support

Let me know if you have more questions, I'll be here to assist you.

    Thanks,

    Jobelle C.

The GitHub Foundations certification and badge are issued and tracked through Microsoft Learn, not directly controlled from the GitHub account side. Recognition and display of certifications depend on how the credentialing system associates the exam result with a Learn profile and its sign-in identity.

Based on the provided information, the certification is correctly visible in the Microsoft Learn profile, which confirms it has been issued. When a credential is missing or not appearing where expected, the supported path is:

    1. Confirm the Learn profile and sign-in account
      • Ensure sign-in is with the same Microsoft account that was used to register and sit the GitHub Foundations exam.
      • If there are multiple profiles or accounts, verify which one shows the credential under the Learn profile credentials page.
    2. Use official credential support for missing or misrouted certifications
      • For missing or misaligned certifications in Microsoft Learn, the documented escalation path is Microsoft Credentials Support: see Microsoft Credentials Support.
      • For GitHub-specific certification issues (including dashboard visibility, GitHub credential display, or cross-platform sync problems), the documented escalation path is GitHub Certification support via GitHub’s own support channel.
    3. Contact the appropriate support teams
      • For Learn profile and Microsoft-issued credential issues (for example, if the credential is not correctly associated with the intended Microsoft account), contact Microsoft Credentials Support as described in the credentials help page.
      • For issues where the GitHub dashboard does not show a GitHub certification that is already present in Microsoft Learn, use the GitHub Certification support option listed under GitHub Certifications support.

Because the certification already appears correctly in Microsoft Learn but not on the GitHub dashboard, this is a cross-system synchronization/association issue that must be resolved by support rather than by changing primary/secondary emails alone.
