Deleted Adobe apps from the root because the Adobe Uninstaller just wouldn't work, but now I can't remove it from the list

I kept trying to uninstall my Adobe apps, and it would bring up the UAC screen with Adobe Uninstaller, and the cursor would spin for a bit, but ultimately nothing happened. So i tried taking matters into my own hands and deleted the files straight in File Explorer, but it's still listed in Settings and Control Panel but it still won't get removed!

    Hi,

Please see if you can reinstall the respective Adobe product and then uninstall using Apps & Features.

There is also an official uninstaller tool released by Adobe that can help.

The command-line interface for this tool allows you to trigger the uninstallation of Adobe apps on devices. It can be used to remove specific individual apps or combinations of apps with a single command. You can use the --list option to list the apps currently available on a machine.

As an alternative, you can use the Revo Uninstaller (free) app.

Deleting the program folder manually removes files but leaves behind the registration information Windows uses to show the app in Settings and Control Panel. That’s why the Adobe entry still appears and won’t uninstall.

    Use these steps, in order:

    1. Run the Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter
      1. Download and run the troubleshooter from the article “Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed.”
      2. When prompted, choose that the problem is “Uninstalling.”
      3. Select the Adobe product from the list and let the troubleshooter attempt to remove it and repair related registry keys.
    2. If the entry still remains or is broken The uninstall information for the Adobe app may now be invalid, leaving a “ghost” entry in the installed programs list. In that case, remove the invalid entry from Add/Remove Programs as described in “Removing Invalid Entries in the Add/Remove Programs Tool.” Important: This involves editing the registry. Back up the registry and be sure of each change before proceeding, as incorrect edits can affect system stability.
    3. Avoid further manual deletion The Windows Installer guidance warns that manually deleting program files is risky and can damage the operating system. For any remaining Adobe components, avoid deleting random files; instead, use:
      • The troubleshooter above, or
      • A proper uninstaller from Adobe if it becomes available/works again.

If, after these steps, the system shows broader installer/uninstaller issues (errors when installing or removing other programs), continue using the same Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter to repair those problems.
