Hello,

I haven't had much time to game over the last couple years, but today I went to play minecraft and couldn't log in. It said I did not have a microsoft account. I went back thru my emails on this account and I have a confirmation that my minecraft account was transferred from Mojang to my microsoft account. Which I believed was ******@gmail.com. Did my account get lost or is it associatied with a different email? What is going on. I have had that account since the minecraft kickstart. Thanks.

The email address used for the Minecraft-to-Microsoft migration must be an active Microsoft account. If sign-in now says there is no Microsoft account for that email, either:

    1. The email entered is not actually a Microsoft account, or
    2. The Microsoft account that was used has been closed or is associated with a different email/alias.

Use these steps to check what is going on:

    1. Check if the Gmail address is a Microsoft account
Go to https://account.microsoft.com and enter the Gmail address.
      • If a password prompt appears, that Gmail is a Microsoft account. Try signing in or select Forgot password? to reset it.
      • If the message "We couldn't find an account with that username" or "That Microsoft account doesn't exist" appears, that Gmail address is not currently a Microsoft account. In that case, verify spelling and domain and consider that the account may have been closed. See: How to check if your email address is a Microsoft account.
    2. Check whether the Microsoft account may be closed
If the sign-in page reports that the account does not exist, it may have been closed or deleted after long inactivity. See the guidance under How to check if your email address is a Microsoft account? about accounts that may have been closed.
    3. Try to locate the correct Microsoft account
If the Gmail address is not the right one, check other possible email addresses that might have been used when migrating from Mojang:
      • Search all email inboxes for receipts or messages from Microsoft (for example, Minecraft or Microsoft Store purchases).
      • Follow the guidance in Check products or services where you used your Microsoft account to look for Microsoft receipts or Xbox/Minecraft-related emails that show which Microsoft account was used.
    4. If sign-in details are forgotten or not working
      • If the correct Microsoft account email is found but the password does not work, use Forgot password? on the sign-in page to reset it.
      • If there are other sign-in issues (forgotten username, verification problems, etc.), use the Sign-in Helper tool referenced in I can't sign in to my Microsoft account.

If the Microsoft account used for the migration has been deleted or cannot be recovered through the official account recovery and sign-in tools, the Minecraft license tied to that account cannot be moved or restored to a different Microsoft account.
