When I set up a teams meeting the I can not generate a link that can be emailed to attendees or copied to put into an email.

Can you tell me, how did you create a Teams meeting exactly?

Did you create it from your Teams app's calendar tab? If you do, the link should be generated automatically, but it will not be sent from your yahoo.com address, because Yahoo is not native to Microsoft. Teams app has no way to access your Yahoo's email function to send it, instead it will be sent via a placeholder outlook.com email address. Attendees cannot reply to this email, but they will get the email with meeting link to attend.

If you want to send the meeting via yahoo, you can create the meeting in Teams app > Calendar tab, invite yourself, then go to your yahoo email to get the invitation email, then forward it to your friends.

Please know, these are done in Teams app. You cannot do this in Outlook app. Outlook Classic app doesn't support Teams add in for personal account. New Outlook app has the Teams toggle, but it only works if your Microsoft account has a native Microsoft domain, such as outlook.com or hotmail.com.

Teams meeting links that can be copied or emailed are only generated when using a supported Microsoft 365 Business/Exchange work account. A Microsoft 365 Family subscription that is tied to a personal email address (such as @yahoo.com) does not provide a supported Exchange Online work mailbox for Teams meetings.

Key points from the documentation:

1. The Outlook/Teams integration for creating Teams meetings and links only works with Microsoft 365 Business Exchange accounts.
2. Free or personal accounts and non‑Microsoft mailboxes (like @yahoo.com) are not supported for scheduling Teams meetings from Outlook and do not get the full Teams meeting add‑in experience.
3. The Teams Meeting add‑in installed by “Teams for work or school” does not work with Outlook.com or other personal accounts, and the Outlook add‑in does not support creating meetings when using a personal account.

To send Teams meeting invitations from a Microsoft 365 Family scenario:

• Use the Teams app (or Teams web) to create the meeting. When the meeting is created in Teams, a join link is generated in the meeting details.
• Copy that join link from the Teams meeting details and paste it into an email sent from the @yahoo.com account.

If the requirement is to schedule Teams meetings directly from Outlook with automatic join links, an eligible Microsoft 365 Business subscription with an Exchange-based work account is required.
