Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Microsoft has not changed the price of the Microsoft 365 Basic subscription in recent years.

Last year, there was a slight price increase for Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscriptions to include Copilot AI features, but no changes were made to the Microsoft 365 Basic plan.

That said, we cannot guarantee that the price will always remain the same, as any future changes would depend on global market conditions. Currently, there is no news or official confirmation that the price for the Basic subscription will increase. You will be notified if there is a change.

For now, you can continue renewing your subscription at the current listed price.

The exact renewal price for Microsoft 365 Basic is not stated in the context and can change over time, so it cannot be confirmed that the renewal will be the same $19.99 + tax.

To see what will be charged at renewal:

    1. Go to the Subscriptions page.
    2. Sign in with the Microsoft account used for the Basic subscription.
    3. Under Subscriptions, check the Microsoft 365 Basic entry:
      • If recurring billing is on, the next charge section shows the renewal date and price.
      • If it shows Expires on [date], use the pricing page to see the current cost.

For current Microsoft 365 Basic pricing and to compare with other plans, use the official pricing links provided in the documentation:

    • For Microsoft 365 Basic FAQs and pricing info, see the pricing link under “How much does Microsoft 365 Basic cost?”
    • General Microsoft 365 consumer pricing comparisons are available via the Compare prices links in the cost sections.

Because Microsoft 365 prices can be updated, the amount paid previously is not a guarantee of the future renewal price; the account’s Subscriptions page is the authoritative source for what will actually be billed.
