    Dear Tank G

I’m sorry to hear your verification attempts are failing. Please try the steps and reply with the information requested by the Independent Advisor, as that information can help continue the troubleshooting more efficiently and reduce repeated questions.

To narrow this down, could you please share:

    • The exact error message/code shown and a screenshot (with any sensitive info covered).
    • Whether this is a Personal Microsoft account (MSA) or a Work/School account.
    • The verification method you’re using (SMS/Call, backup email, Microsoft Authenticator, recovery codes).
    • The device, OS, and browser/app involved.
    • Any recent changes you made to your security info (phone/email/Authenticator).

In the meantime, here are additional steps that you can try:

    1. Use the correct sign-in/security page (by account type)
    1. Refresh the sign-in session
    1. Clear site data for Microsoft domains
    • In your browser settings, clear cache and cookies specifically for these domains:  microsoft.com, live.com, account.microsoft.com, login.live.com, login.microsoftonline.com, outlook.com.
    • Then retry the verification.
    1. Disable blockers/VPN and allow cookies
    • Temporarily turn off VPN/Proxy.
    • Disable ad/script blockers and allow cookies (including third‑party cookies) for Microsoft sign-in domains.
    1. Check device date/time and Authenticator
    • Set Date/Time/Time zone to Automatic on your device.
    • If using Microsoft Authenticator:
      • Ensure phone time is automatic and Notifications are allowed for the app.
      • If push doesn’t arrive, try “Use a verification code” from the app.
      • If it still fails, remove the old Authenticator entry from Security info and add it again by scanning the QR code.
    1. Try a different verification route
    • On the prompt, choose “I can’t use my current method” (wording may vary) and pick another method (backup email, SMS, voice call, or recovery codes).
    • If SMS codes don’t arrive, try the voice call option (if available) and confirm the phone number format includes your country code.

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.

I hope the guidance above helps you verify your Microsoft account and minimize any sign-in disruptions. Wishing you a seamless experience getting back into your services.

    Hi,

To clarify, are you trying to verify your account via the login screen of your computer when you get the error code?

Please try using a different internet connection, then open an InPrivate window(Ctrl + Shift + N) in your browser and try logging in to your account using the link below:

    https://account.microsoft.com/

Are you receiving the same error code?
