When I close my lab top and reopen it, 2 of the apps get deactivated. I then have to contact customer support and have them raised activation limit, then registered again. This started happening when I installed Windows 11

    Hi Maria Hernandez,

After upgrading to Windows 11, some apps may re‑check their license when the laptop wakes from sleep after closing the lid. In certain cases, the wake process can make those apps think the device environment has changed, which triggers deactivation and consumes activation limits.

Please kindly follow the recommended troubleshooting steps below to resolve this:

    1, Change the lid‑close behavior

    • Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options
    • Select Choose what closing the lid does
    • Set When I close the lid to Hibernate or Do nothing
    • Apply this for both On battery and Plugged in

2, Disable Fast Startup to prevent mixed shutdown/sleep states that can affect app licensing.

    • In Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options
    • Select Choose what the power buttons do
    • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable
    • Uncheck Turn on fast startup
    • Save changes and restart

Please also ensure to keep system firmware up to date

    • Install the latest BIOS and chipset updates from the laptop manufacturer

If the issue continues, using Hibernate instead of Sleep is currently the most reliable workaround. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.
