Hello,

This is Junyong Park, a user of MS Office 365.

I am reaching out because the following account is set as a minor, and therefore cannot be removed from the “My Family” group.

I am also unable to withdraw consent, so I would appreciate your assistance with this matter.

Thank you, Junyong Park

    Go to https://account.live.com/mykids.aspx
Sign in with the family organizer's account. You should be able to find the "Manage consent" option next to your child member's. Click on that, then remove consent on the next page. Then you should be able to remove the member after that from your group.

To remove a child (minor) account from a Microsoft family group, consent must first be removed by the adult who originally granted it. After that, the child can be removed from the family group.

Follow these steps as an organizer:

    1. Using a web browser, sign in with the organizer account at https://family.microsoft.com.
    2. Locate the child account in the family list and select it.
    3. Select Remove consent for this child’s account.
    4. Go back to the main family group page.
    5. Next to the same child account, select Remove from family group.
    6. Confirm by selecting Remove.

    Important notes:

    • Only the organizer who granted consent can remove a child account from the family group. If that organizer account cannot be accessed, the adult/guardian should attempt to recover it first using the account recovery process referenced in the documentation.
    • Leaving or being removed from a family group does not delete the Microsoft account, but the child will lose access to Family Safety features and any shared subscriptions (for example, Microsoft 365 Family) provided through the group.

If the child account is still treated as a minor because of its birthdate, the date of birth cannot be changed to make it an adult account just to bypass these restrictions. The organizer must manage the account through the family group as described above until the account reaches the statutory adult age for the region.
