    Hi,

If possible, do you have any third-party antivirus software? If so, which one?

If it's a laptop, what is the laptop model?

Access msinfo32.exe in the search bar, take a screenshot, and post it here.

Check the keyboard between the F1 and F12 keys to see if there's one with a camera icon. Press it to see if it unlocks. If that doesn't work, try Fn+F and the key with the camera icon.

Also check if it's a laptop; there should be a privacy palette located on top of the camera.

    Thanks

Follow these steps to fix the built-in camera in Windows 10 and then contact support if needed.

    1. Run the Windows camera troubleshooter
      • Open the Get Help app from Start.
      • In Get Help, run the camera troubleshooter. It will automatically run diagnostics and attempt to fix most camera problems.
      • You can also use this link if available on the device: Run the troubleshooter in Get Help.
    2. Check camera privacy settings
      • Select Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
      • Make sure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are both set to On.
    3. Test the camera in the Camera app
      • Select Start > Camera.
      • Check if the preview works.
      • If the camera works here but not in another app, adjust that app’s camera settings.
    4. Check for Windows updates
      • Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      • If View optional updates appears, select it and install any camera-related updates.
      • Restart the PC after updates, then test the camera again using the Camera app.
    5. Check antivirus or firewall
      • Some antivirus or firewall software can block the camera.
      • Temporarily disable camera-blocking features in the security software and test the camera again.
    6. If using a laptop with a physical camera control
      • Look for a camera key on the keyboard (possibly used with Fn), a dedicated camera button, or a slider/shutter near the camera lens.
      • Make sure it is switched to On or the shutter is open.
    7. Contact Microsoft support / speak to a live agent
      • Open the Get Help app from Start.
      • Type something like “Chat with an agent” and press Enter.
      • Select Contact support.
      • Choose the product and category (for example, Windows 10 and device/camera issue).
      • Follow the prompts to connect to a live agent via chat or select a Call me back option if available.

If the built-in camera still does not work after these steps, provide the support agent with details: Windows version, device model, any error messages, and what has already been tried.
