I have 2 MS Family accounts. Your team helped me find the second one a while back. I want to keep one, cancel one, and purchase a business plan. I can find one but not the other. The one I can find is the one I want to keep. How can I find the other?

To locate and then cancel the second Microsoft 365 Family subscription while keeping the one already found, follow these steps:

    1. Identify which Microsoft account has the active Family subscription to keep
      • Sign in at https://account.microsoft.com/services with the account you already know and want to keep.
      • Under Services & subscriptions, confirm this is the Family subscription you want to keep (note the renewal date and the email address shown at the top of the page).
    2. Check other possible Microsoft accounts for the second subscription
      • Repeat the same sign-in at https://account.microsoft.com/services using any other email addresses that might have been used in the past (for example, another Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, or Gmail address).
      • For each account, look under Services & subscriptions to see if a Microsoft 365 Family subscription appears.
      • The second Family subscription will show there with its own renewal date and billing status.
    3. Cancel the unwanted Family subscription once found
      • While signed in to the account that owns the subscription you want to cancel, go to Services & subscriptions.
      • Select Manage next to the Microsoft 365 Family subscription you want to stop.
      • If recurring billing is on, turn it off and then choose Cancel subscription (or follow the prompts to stop future charges). The account itself will remain; only the subscription will end at the end of the current billing period.
    4. If the second subscription cannot be found by signing in
      • If none of the possible accounts show the second subscription, the charge can still be stopped by cancelling it directly with the payment provider (credit card or bank). This is the fallback when the exact Microsoft account cannot be identified or accessed.
    5. Purchase a Microsoft 365 business plan
      • After confirming which Family subscription is kept and which is cancelled, sign in with the account that will own the business subscription.
      • Use the business comparison and purchase options under Microsoft 365 business subscriptions to choose and buy the appropriate business plan. See the comparison and purchase options in Compare Microsoft 365 for business plans.
      • If moving business files from a personal plan to a business plan is needed, follow the guidance in Switch from an individual Microsoft 365 subscription to Microsoft 365 for business.
    6. Decide whether both a personal Family plan and a business plan are needed
      • It is supported to keep one Microsoft 365 Family subscription for personal use and also have a Microsoft 365 business subscription for work, especially if personal files and shared family use should remain separate from business data.
