    Hi,

Access msinfo32.exe in the Windows search bar, take a screenshot, and post it here.

    Thanks

Valorant stutter with big FPS swings on Windows 11 is often caused by background load, power settings, or security/virtualization features affecting CPU latency. The following Windows-side steps can help stabilize CPU render latency and overall FPS:

    1. Install all Windows and driver updates
    • Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates and install everything offered, including optional updates.
    • Then select View optional updates and install available driver updates (especially graphics and chipset).
    • Restart if required.
    1. Scan for malware High CPU usage from malware can cause periodic stutters.
    • Go to Start > Settings > Update & security > Windows Security.
    • Open Virus & threat protection and run a Quick scan.
    • Restart if threats are found and removed.
    1. Set Windows for best performance
    • Press Start, type Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows, and open it.
    • On the Visual Effects tab, select Adjust for best performance and apply.
    1. Use Best performance power mode On a gaming laptop this is critical to keep CPU clocks high and stable.
    • Go to Start > Settings > System > Power & battery (Windows 11) and set Power mode to Best performance.

If using the older Control Panel path:

    • Go to Start > Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings.
    • In Power Options, show additional plans and select High performance.

Note: This increases power use and heat; keep the laptop plugged in while gaming.

    1. Close background apps and monitor CPU usage
    • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
    • On Processes, end tasks for apps not needed while playing (browsers, launchers, overlays, updaters).
    • Check Performance and Startup apps tabs to disable high-usage startup items that may spike CPU.
    1. Optimize storage If Valorant or Windows is on a hard drive, fragmentation can add stutter.
    • Press Start, type Defragment and Optimize Drives, open it.
    • Select the game/OS drive and click Optimize.
    1. Optional for gaming-only sessions: adjust security virtualization features On some gaming systems, Windows 11 virtualization-based security can slightly impact CPU performance. If prioritizing performance over security while gaming:

    Turn off Memory integrity:

    • Select Start, type Core Isolation, open Core Isolation.
    • Turn Memory integrity off and restart.

Turn off Virtual Machine Platform (VMP):

    • Select Start, type Windows features, open Turn Windows features on or off.
    • Clear Virtual Machine Platform, select OK, and restart.

Important: Turning these off can make the device more vulnerable to threats. Re-enable them after gaming if security is a priority.

    1. General stability tips
    • Make sure only one overlay is active (e.g., disable unnecessary overlays from other launchers).
    • After applying changes, restart the PC, then launch only Riot Client and Valorant.

If stutter persists after these Windows optimizations, the remaining causes are likely in-game settings, drivers from the GPU vendor, or OEM utilities that manage performance modes.
