How to change a display language of word online app?

Hi everyone!
I currently live in Poland, but I’d like to change my Microsoft 365 display language to either French or English. Unfortunately, it seems impossible. Every time I change my general Office 365 display settings to English, the Word web app still shows up in Polish :(((
Since I’m paying for the service, I’d really prefer not to rely on the translator. Is there a way to permanently set one display language for all Office 365 online apps?
At this point I’m getting desperate, so thank you in advance for any help!
Ps there is no language settings in the right upper corner as an old version of the browser word app seems to have :(

I am sorry but it's a bit strange why should an online app depend on the browser’s display language at all? In multilingual Europe, it should be simple and obvious to let users change the app’s language directly within the interface. Relying solely on the browser language feels .... at least unnecessarily restrictive.

This is because the web apps depend on/use the browser for much of its capability.

I'm afraid that nobody here can answer why questions with certainty. I speculate that the behavior is part of a general trend. It is assumed, among software developers, that people in general speak only one language. This is of course a very simplified view (and an incorrect one).
