The subscription shown in the screenshot is already disabled, so no new usage charges are being incurred. The invoice shown is for usage that occurred in the billing period before or up to the time the subscription was cancelled. Azure continues to generate a final bill after cancellation for any usage that happened in the last billing cycle.

    From the documentation:

    • After cancelling the final subscription, Azure closes the current billing cycle within 72 hours and then issues the final invoice for the usage incurred in that last cycle.
    • After cancellation, billing stops immediately for new usage, but the final invoice can arrive up to three days after cancellation and still needs to be paid.

So the charge visible on the invoice is expected behavior: it is the last bill for usage that occurred before the subscription was disabled.

Regarding removing the credit card: the documentation in the provided context does not describe the exact steps to remove a payment method. It does state that after cancelling and deleting Azure subscriptions, a credit card can be removed from the account to render it inoperable, and that for any billing or payment issues, Azure billing support should be contacted via a support request in the Azure portal.

Given that the subscription is disabled and a final invoice has already been generated and paid, and there are questions about ongoing charges and payment method removal, the next step is to contact Azure billing support from the Azure portal so they can:

    1. Confirm that no further usage-based charges will be generated for this subscription.
    2. Assist with removing or changing the payment method on the billing account.

Use the “Help + support” blade in the Azure portal and create a Billing support request as described in the Cost Management + Billing FAQ.
