I have been an excel user for a long time. I think I am allowed to have 5 devices. Some of my devices have been trashed. I would like to add my new tablet.

With a Microsoft 365 Family subscription, the subscription holder and everyone it is shared with can install the Microsoft 365 apps on all their devices, but each person can only be signed in on five devices at the same time.

To add the new tablet:

1. Install the Office apps (such as Excel) on the tablet.
2. When prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account that is associated with the Microsoft 365 Family subscription (or the account it was shared with).

If more than five devices are currently signed in for that account, Microsoft 365 will automatically sign out older devices to keep within the five‑device sign‑in limit. Trashed or unused devices do not need to be manually removed for this to work.
