Can't import skype contact

Question

So i downloaded the old contacts files of my skype account and now im trying sync it with my team accounts by following some command prompt thing.

But doesnt seem to work.

The file sits in my download folder and is called "contacts"

It seems like i dont understand what they are trying to tell me using this link.

Dear Microsoft, why don't you make it easy and allow users to just add the contacts file to team using copy and paste?

Right now i can't even log into skype using teams because you are not sending the code to my phone number...

Skype contacts can be exported, but there is no option available to import these contacts to Teams.

The exported contacts.csv file is a comma separated text file and can be viewed using any text editor or Excel application.

However, if you are signed in to Teams on a computer with exactly the same account as you have used with Skype, then you should also have the People tab available in Teams.

The People button will open a list of all your Skype contacts in a separate window. This list has an option to start a chat with these contacts or send a contact invitation using the email address provided for a contact. However, the email address is only available if the contact has selected a privacy option allowing the email address to be publicly available.

Contacts exported from Skype cannot be imported into Microsoft Teams (including Teams Free). Teams does not support importing external contacts from a file, and there is no supported command-line or “copy and paste contacts file” method to sync Skype contacts into Teams.

For consumer/Teams Free scenarios:

• Skype personal contacts do not automatically import into Teams from a .csv or other exported file.
• Teams already includes only the contacts from the signed-in organization/tenant, and external contact import is not available.

What is possible with Skype data:

• Skype contacts can be exported to a .csv file from the Skype My Account page or the Skype Export page, as described in the Skype documentation, but that file is only for backup or use in other services that support .csv contact import.
• Skype data (files, chat history, contacts) can be exported for personal use or backup via the Skype export tools, but not directly consumed by Teams as contacts.

Because Teams does not provide a feature to import those Skype contacts, the only option is to add needed contacts into Teams manually.
