Account hacked with email changed

My account was recently hacked a month or two ago. I've only realized it a week ago. I know the email I used for the account was changed because I made a completely new Microsoft account using the same email. My settings app in windows still shows the same profile picture that I've used for the hacked Microsoft account, but when I click "My Microsoft Account", it doesnt sign me in. I dont know the email and password the hacked account uses now, but I know some history of the account since I believe I have the transaction number for buying Minecraft in my gmail.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

I'm sorry you are experiencing this.

Since the security info has been replaced by the hacker, I'm afraid there is no other working method to recover the Microsoft account, and Microsoft Support cannot help either.

However, I would recommend reaching out to Minecraft Support regarding your Minecraft account if they can provide an alternative option:

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

Because the hacker changed the sign-in email and security info, only the official automated recovery process can restore access. Support cannot manually reveal or change the new alias on a consumer Microsoft account.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Try the hacked-account recovery guide
      • Go through the official steps in How to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account:
        • First, on any PCs or phones used with that account, run a full antivirus/malware scan (for Windows 10/11 you can use Windows Defender as described in the article) before attempting recovery.
        • Then attempt to sign in and change your password or, if you cannot sign in, use the password reset flow.
    2. Use the Microsoft account recovery form (ACSR)
      • Go to the Microsoft account recovery form (ACSR) referenced in the Q&A answers and fill it out for the hacked account.
      • Enter the original email address that used to be on the hacked account, plus a different contact email where Microsoft can reach you.
      • Provide as much proof as possible, including:
        • Old passwords used on the hacked account.
        • The transaction details for the Minecraft purchase (order/transaction number, approximate date, payment method).
        • Other Microsoft Store purchases, devices used, and any other details requested.
      • Submit the form from a device and location that were regularly used with the hacked account; this improves the automated checks.
    3. If the form says the account does not exist
      • This can happen if the alias was removed or the account was closed/renamed. The moderator guidance in similar cases is that if the ACSR form cannot locate or validate the account, there is no alternate manual recovery path for consumer Microsoft accounts.
      • In that situation, the account may not be recoverable. However, Minecraft-specific access might still be handled separately by Minecraft Support.
    4. If recovery fails and Minecraft is the main concern
      • If the hacked account cannot be recovered via the ACSR process, contact Minecraft Support with your Minecraft purchase and ownership details to see if they can offer an alternative for Minecraft access, as suggested in the referenced answer.
    5. Secure the new account and devices
      • On the new Microsoft account created with the same email:
        • Enable strong, unique passwords.
        • Turn on two-step verification (MFA).
      • Keep all devices fully scanned and updated to prevent a repeat compromise.

If the automated recovery ultimately rejects the request, the hacked Microsoft account (and its attached services) cannot be restored by support, and focus should shift to securing devices, the new account, and working with Minecraft Support for game access.
