Error 1058 usually indicates that a required Windows service is disabled or stopped. On Windows 7, verify and re-enable the affected service, then retry the Office 2013 installation.
Follow these steps on Windows 7:
- Click Start, search for Services, and click Services in the search results.
- In the list, locate the service that is failing (for Office installs this is often a core Windows service such as Windows Installer or a related dependency).
- Double-click the service.
- If Startup type is set to Disabled, change it to Automatic or Manual (anything other than Disabled).
- Click Apply.
- Click Start to start the service.
- Click OK.
- Run the Office 2013 setup again.
If the error persists, run a system file check to repair possible corrupted system files, then retry the install:
- Click Start > All Programs > Accessories.
- Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- In the Command Prompt window, type:
and press Enter.sfc /scannow - When the scan completes, restart Windows and run the Office 2013 installation again.
