I understand this can be confusing, but BitLocker doesn’t need to be installed, it’s already built into Windows.
Here's how you can enable it:
- BitLocker is available on Windows Pro, Enterprise, or Education.
- Open Start, type BitLocker, and select Manage BitLocker.
- Next to the system drive, select Turn on BitLocker and follow the prompts to back up the recovery key.
For Windows Home:
- Full BitLocker isn’t available, but you may have Device encryption.
- Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Device encryption and turn it On if available.
Make sure you safely save the recovery key, as it’s required if you ever need to unlock the drive. I hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction.
