How to fix touch pad

Hi. After the Windows update, my touchpad stopped working. It does not appear in the settings or in the Device Manager. What should I do?

Click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

After a Windows update, a missing or non‑working touchpad is usually caused by a missing or outdated driver.

1. Run Windows Update again
   • Open Settings → Windows Update.
   • Check for updates and install all available updates.
   • Restart the PC and test the touchpad.
2. Update the touchpad driver in Device Manager
   • Open Device Manager.
   • Look under:
     • “Human Interface Devices”, and
     • “Mice and other pointing devices”.
   • If a touchpad or HID pointing device appears, right‑click it → Update driver and follow the prompts. This can use Windows Update to pull the correct driver.
3. Reinstall the touchpad driver in Device Manager
   • In Device Manager, under the same categories, right‑click the touchpad device (if present) → Uninstall device.
   • Restart the PC. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically from Windows Update.
4. If the touchpad device still does not appear
   • Run Windows Update again to ensure all drivers are installed.
   • If the touchpad is still missing from Device Manager and Settings, contact the laptop manufacturer for the correct Windows 11 touchpad driver and further diagnostics.
