If your ARC mouse suddenly stopped responding even after changing batteries, troubleshooting, and trying another laptop, the best conclusion is that the mouse hardware has likely failed.

    Turn the mouse OFF

Press and hold the pairing button

Turn it ON while holding the button

    Look for blinking light

If no light appears, the mouse likely has internal circuit failure.

    Best option-Replace the mouse.

Because the Arc mouse will not enter pairing mode on any PC and batteries have already been replaced and checked, the issue is almost certainly with the mouse hardware itself rather than Windows or Bluetooth on the laptops.

    Only basic checks remain:

    1. Re‑check batteries and contacts
      • Open the battery compartment and verify batteries are inserted in the correct direction and seated firmly.
      • Inspect the compartment for obstructions or corrosion and clean gently if needed.
      • If rechargeable batteries are used, ensure they are actually charged and supported by the device.
    2. Confirm the mouse is powering on
      • Make sure the mouse’s power switch or “on” position is correctly set.
      • If there is normally a light or other sign when entering pairing mode, check whether it appears at all. If not, this indicates a hardware failure.
    3. Test on multiple PCs
      • This has already been done and pairing never starts, while other Bluetooth devices work. That effectively rules out Windows Bluetooth issues such as those described in the general Bluetooth troubleshooting steps.

Given these symptoms, the Arc mouse is very likely defective. The next step is to contact Microsoft Support or the device retailer for repair or replacement options, especially if the mouse is still under warranty.
