Unable to purchase Minecraft, need help

I have tried to purchase Minecraft on both the official Microsoft store and Minecraft's website. I get the same error message every time. It tells me that my card details are incorrect (despite the fact that all of the details are completely correct), and after trying for a number of times it tells me to try another way to pay.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Kindly try the following workarounds according to Microsoft Agent | Moderator Prakhar_Khare, who answered a similar case: https://learn.microsoft.com/answers/questions/3193503/error-check-the-info-you-entered-it-doesnt-match-t?forum=windows-all&referrer=answers

"A few of the things you can check while entering the details:

    1. Enter your name precisely as it appears on the card. Only include your middle initial if it appears on your card.
    2. If this is a company card, enter the company name as both a first name and last name. For example, if the company name is "Contoso Shoes" split the company name into the first and last name fields.
    3. If the company only has one name, for example, "Contoso," enter the company name in both the first and last name fields.
    4. If you are asked to enter the address and it exceeds the Address 1 field, use the Address 2 field. Do not shorten or abbreviate your address.
    5. The card number and type cannot be edited, so if you make a mistake, you'll need to add a new one with the correct information. Other credit card information can be edited, such as billing address and expiration date.

For more information, you can refer to the section Troubleshooting problems changing a payment method in the article Change the payment method or credit card linked to your Microsoft account. https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/add-a-new-bank-or-credit-card-to-your-microsoft-account-c39dbc30-bc83-30c8-5ea9-d0d94e6dcfe4

However, if you are still facing issues while adding a new payment method, we have a dedicated accounts & billing support team that can assist you better with the issue. https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/ "

Thank you for your understanding! Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,

Follow these steps to resolve the payment issue when buying Minecraft from Microsoft Store or the Minecraft site:

    1. Verify card details and status
      • Ensure the name, billing address, and CVV entered match exactly what is on the card and on file with the bank.
      • Confirm the card is active and not blocked by contacting the bank or card issuer.
      • Make sure the card is enabled for online and international transactions, depending on your country/region.
    2. Check card type and regional support
      • Some cards are not accepted depending on country/region. If the card is repeatedly declined, contact the bank to confirm it is allowed for Microsoft/Minecraft purchases.
      • Prepaid or virtual cards are not accepted for Microsoft Marketplace purchases. Use a standard debit or credit card instead.
      • In some regions, only certain card types are supported (for example, some regions only support credit cards, or only Visa/Mastercard).
    3. Update or correct payment information in the Microsoft account
      • Go to the Payment options page for the Microsoft account and ensure the card details are up to date (expiration date, billing address, etc.).
      • If the card is outdated, edit or add the card again on the Payment page.
    4. Check for other account or billing issues
      • Verify there are no overdue subscriptions on the Microsoft account on the Services & subscriptions page; overdue balances can cause new payments to fail.
      • Make sure the Microsoft account is not temporarily suspended.
    5. Check local system and security software
      • Ensure antivirus or security software is not blocking pop‑ups or payment confirmation windows, which can interfere with the payment flow.
    6. Try a different payment method
      • If the same error persists after confirming all of the above, use a different supported card or another accepted payment method (such as a PayPal account with a valid funding source, if available in the region).

If none of these steps resolve the issue, contact the card issuer to confirm why the transaction is being declined, then contact Microsoft Store/Minecraft billing support with the exact error and time of the failed attempts.
