    Hi Jamie,

I am happy to help you today as forum support. May I know if you encounter any error message?

To attach a screenshot, see below:

    • Press Windows key + Shift + S together on the keyboard. The screen will dim with overlay. Drag the pointer to take a screenshot.
    • The screenshot will be copied to the clipboard. Please press Ctrl+V in the editor to paste it, then confirm to attach the image.

Alternatively, you can press the PrtScn key on the keyboard, if it exists, to directly copy the Entire screen, which you can paste using CTRL+V.

    #2:

Press Windows+R keys on the keyboard, or Right-click Start on the Taskbar and choose Run.

Type "execel /safe" (There is a space and type it without quotes please)

    Press Enter.

Let me know if that works.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

Excel not opening can be caused by several common issues such as startup problems, add-in conflicts, or a damaged Office installation.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Repair Office
      • In Windows, open Settings.
      • Go to Apps > Apps & features.
      • Find Microsoft 365 or Office, select it, then choose Modify.
      • Select Online Repair, then Repair and let it complete. This fixes most cases where Excel opens blank or will not start.
    2. Use Excel startup troubleshooting
      • If Excel is freezing, hanging, or not responding when starting or opening a workbook, follow the step-by-step solutions in the Excel troubleshooting article for “Excel not responding, hangs, freezes or stops working.” Work through the methods in the order given there.
    3. If Excel opens to a blank screen
      • If double-clicking a file only shows a blank Excel window with greyed-out buttons, follow the guidance for “Excel opens to a blank screen.” The primary step is again to run an Online Repair of Office as described above.

To speak to a support agent/tech:

    • Use the official Microsoft Support channels. From the support site, choose Excel/Office, then use the Contact us, Get help, Chat with an agent, or Call me back options to reach a live person, as described in the Q&A guidance.
