    Hi @Dawne Crawford

Thank you for explaining what you want to do and for confirming that you have a valid College student email address available for verification.

From your description, you are currently a student at College, and you purchased a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription on your personal email address, so you are asking whether a student discount can still be applied while keeping that same email as your sign in.

Student pricing is available only after student status is verified, and that verification is typically completed using a college or university email address through the official student offer flow.  In addition, the Microsoft 365 Personal student offer must be applied to a personal Microsoft account, which is why a school account cannot be used to purchase the personal plan directly.  Because education benefits and personal subscriptions are handled as separate offer types, the most reliable path is to either use the school provided Microsoft 365 Education access, or claim the student offer on a personal Microsoft account and then manage billing so there is no overlap.

1/ Check whether Citrus College provides Microsoft 365 Education at no cost

2/ If you want the student offer for Microsoft 365 Personal, claim it using a personal Microsoft account and verify with your student email

3/ Avoid double billing by adjusting renewal settings before switching offers

    • If your current Microsoft 365 Personal subscription is still active, turn off recurring billing so it ends at the end of the current paid period, and then complete the student offer checkout afterward to prevent overlapping charges.
    • You can manage this from the subscription page here: Services and subscriptions

Please also note that an existing Microsoft 365 subscription cannot be transferred from one Microsoft account to another, so keeping the same account for ownership is important when choosing your sign in.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If you have any updates regarding the issue, please feel free to share them with me.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. I look forward to continuing the conversation.
