I need help, I can't personalize my Desktop background (I'm stuck with a background that isn't my favorite forever) and do other things because of the Windows activation error. I tried troubleshooting but it requires an email I don't have. Why did this even become a problem in the first place? It never asked me before in all my personalization changing to Activate Windows?

The desktop cannot be personalized because Windows is currently not activated. When Windows is not activated, features like changing the background, colors, and some other personalization options are intentionally disabled until activation succeeds.
