A video editing tool developed by Microsoft, designed to make video creation easy and accessible for everyone.
Hi, Amish Singal
This does not look like normal Clipchamp behavior. After you detach audio, the sound should become its own track, so if the picture freezes while audio keeps playing, it is usually a playback or file/codec glitch rather than the feature working as intended.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
Try the same project in the other version of Clipchamp, if you use the app, test in Edge or Chrome, and if you use the browser, test the desktop app. Switching environments because one version may handle playback better on that device.
Re-save the source video as a fresh MP4, then import that copy into a new project. This can help if the original file’s format or codec is what causes the freeze after detaching audio.
Close extra tabs and apps before previewing. Clipchamp audio/detach problems can be related to buffering or low memory, and I would also recommend freeing up resources.
If you only need the original sound gone for now, use Mute instead of Detach audio as a temporary workaround. Clipchamp supports muting directly, so it can let you keep editing until the detach bug is resolved.
Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
