    Hello,

In Word, or Excel, can you go to Files > Accounts, and share a screenshot to show the full name of the product please?

Also, is it purchased via Microsoft or third party?

Office 2024 is a perpetual (non‑subscription) license, so seeing an expiry message usually means the installed apps are still using a Microsoft 365 subscription license instead of the Office 2024 license.

    Take these steps:

    1. Confirm whether the message is about a Microsoft 365 subscription
      • Open Word or another Office app.
      • If the banner or dialog mentions buying, renewing, or reactivating a Microsoft 365 subscription, the apps are still tied to a subscription license, not Office 2024.
    2. Check the account and license in the app
      • In Word, go to File > Account.
      • Under Product Information, check what product is listed (for example, “Microsoft 365 Personal” vs “Office 2024”).
      • If it shows a Microsoft 365 subscription with an expiry date, that explains the “expires in one month” message.
    3. If the device came with a Microsoft 365 trial (Japan-only scenario)
      • Some PCs sold in Japan include a Microsoft 365 Personal 24‑month free offer and allow switching to Office Home and Business 2024 for free after a 3‑month trial.
      • After the 3‑month trial expires, the apps show Your subscription has expired and become deactivated except for viewing/printing.
      • To switch to Office Home and Business 2024:
        1. Start Word/Excel/PowerPoint from Start after the subscription expires.
        2. When Your Microsoft 365 subscription has expired appears, select No, thanks and close it.
        3. Go to Account and confirm it shows Your subscription has expired.
        4. Go back to Home, choose Blank document. A yellow bar should appear offering Office Home and Business 2024 free; select Claim.
        5. If the yellow bar does not appear, use the link in the expiration email from Microsoft, or go directly to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2330590 as documented.
    4. Redeem the Office 2024 product key with a Microsoft account
      • If a product key for Office Home and Business 2024 was provided:
        1. Use the Use it now link/button (or go to Office setup).
        2. Select Get started.
        3. On Use the product key, confirm the key and product name, then select Redeem.
        4. After redemption, go to the Microsoft dashboard, then Services & subscriptions (https://account.microsoft.com/services).
        5. Confirm Microsoft Office Home and Business 2024 appears under Products you've purchased, and that any Microsoft 365 trial is listed under Canceled subscriptions.
      • Once Office 2024 is correctly linked to the account, reinstalling/activating Office from that account should remove the “expires in one month” subscription warning.

If the product name includes “Microsoft 365” and shows an expiry date, that is a subscription, not Office 2024. In that case, either renew the subscription or ensure the Office 2024 perpetual license is redeemed and installed instead.
