    Dear @a2maverick,

To properly investigate and resolve this issue, I kindly recommend that you create a new Microsoft 365 trial tenant. This step is required so that you can successfully raise a support ticket and escalate the case to the Microsoft product team for further analysis. They will support you with the provisioning of a Microsoft 365 Business Basic account and guide you through the process of migrating your email from GoDaddy to Microsoft.

Please kindly follow these steps below:

1.Visit the Microsoft 365 Enterprise Plans page: Go to Compare Office 365 Enterprise Pricing and Plans | Microsoft 365

2.Choose a plan and start a free trial: Select any of the available plans and click "Try for free" to begin the trial setup process.

3.Follow the guided setup: Complete the steps to create a new Microsoft account and a new tenant. This will be a separate and independent Microsoft 365 environment.

4.Access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center: Once the new tenant is created, navigate to https://admin.microsoft.com/AdminPortal/Home#/homepage

5.Go to Support: In the left-hand navigation menu, click on "Support" and then "Help & support."

6.Raise a support ticket: Describe your issue in detail. Provide the following information about your account:

    • Your administrator account email address for the tenant.
    • The domain name of your tenant
    • Any error messages you are receiving.
    • Details about the issues you are experiencing (e.g., purchase business basic subscription, move emails from GoDaddy to Microsoft.).

    7.Submit your ticket:

Follow the prompts to submit your support request. You will likely receive a ticket number for tracking.

    Important notes:

    • This new trial tenant will not give you access to any of the data or settings in your original account. It is solely a temporary means to contact Microsoft support.
    • Be prepared for Microsoft support to ask for verification of your identity and administrative rights for the tenant.
    • The resolution time might be longer as you are contacting support from a different tenant.
    • Remember to cancel the trial subscription for the new tenant once your issue with the original account is resolved to avoid any unintended charges. You can typically do this within the Microsoft 365 Admin Center under "Billing" > "Your products."

I hope these steps will help resolve your issue. If you need further assistance, I am always here to help.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I appreciate your continued trust. Hope you having a nice day and really much warm regards to you as well!

To move email from GoDaddy to Microsoft and get a Business Basic subscription, follow these steps and then options to reach a human for help.

    1. Sign up for Microsoft 365 Business Basic
    2. Go to the Microsoft 365 for business page and under Microsoft 365 Business Basic select Buy now.
    3. Choose number of users, subscription length, and billing term, then select Next.
    4. Enter an existing email address for Microsoft to contact during setup (billing and renewal info).
    5. Provide name, business phone, business size, company name, and location, then select Next.
    6. Verify identity with a text or phone call and enter the verification code.
    7. Create the new business account:
      • Accept the suggested username or enter a custom one.
      • Choose the initial domain in the form <domain>.onmicrosoft.com.
      • Create a password.
    8. Select how many licenses are needed and complete checkout to Place order.

Details are in the “Sign up steps” section of the Business Basic documentation.

    1. Add or buy a domain for business email After purchase, set up the domain that currently lives at GoDaddy (or buy a new one):
    • If using an existing domain (for example, the one used with GoDaddy email):
      1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
      2. Select Go to guided setup.
      3. In Add domain, enter the domain name (like contoso.com).
      4. Follow the wizard to add DNS records to verify ownership and connect the domain.
      5. If the domain is hosted at GoDaddy or another Domain Connect provider, sign in when prompted so Microsoft can configure DNS automatically.
    • If buying a new domain during signup:
      1. On the “How you’ll sign in” page, choose Create a new business email account (advanced).
      2. Follow the steps to buy the new domain.
      3. After purchase, add users and licenses and install apps from the admin center.
    1. Set up Outlook and move mail from GoDaddy Once the domain and mailboxes are created in Microsoft 365:
    2. Set up Outlook with the new Microsoft 365 mailbox:
      • Open Outlook.
      • Go to File > Info > Add Account.
      • Enter the new Microsoft 365 email address and select Connect.
    3. Export mail from the old GoDaddy/Outlook profile (if using Outlook with GoDaddy):
      • In Outlook, choose File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
      • Select Export to a file and export to an Outlook Data File (.pst) including subfolders.
    4. Import mail into the new Microsoft 365 mailbox:
      • In Outlook, choose File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
      • Select Import from another program or file.
      • Choose the .pst file exported earlier and import into the new mailbox.

For multiple users, Exchange admin center migration options are also available.

    1. Ways to talk to a human To get live help from Microsoft:
    • Use Microsoft 365 admin support (after creating the tenant):
      1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
      2. Select Help & Support.
      3. Describe the issue (for example, “Move email from GoDaddy to Microsoft 365 Business Basic”) and choose a support option (chat or call).
    • Use Microsoft customer service phone numbers:
      • Go to the customer service phone numbers page and select the country/region.
      • When calling, ignore the initial message suggesting online support and wait for menu options.
      • Choose the options for business/Office 365 for business and technical support.

If unable to access the original tenant to open a ticket, one workaround is to create a trial Microsoft 365 tenant, sign in to its admin center, and open a support ticket from there, then ask to speak with the Data Protection or support team about the GoDaddy-to-Microsoft migration.
