I have the same problem. Using Classic Outlook (Office 365).
I have multiple email accounts. Only one has been throwing errors since Sunday evening 15 Mar 2026. All others are working fine.

    I fixed it (I hope).

    1. I removed the email account (File>Account Settings> Account Settings - Email/remove
    2. I followed the instructions on this page https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/unable-to-add-a-gmail-account-to-classic-outlook-4d9530c5-3f40-4e6d-9b45-4477f160828f and did the "Manual Workaround" (You get to the Windows Credentials through the Control Panel)
    3. I re-added the Gmail account (File > Add Account )

    Hi,

If you open Outlook on the web or the new Outlook version, can you open it normally?

Error 0x800CCC0E in Outlook indicates a connection problem between Outlook and the mail server, even if other apps can connect.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Run the Inbox Repair Tool (for PST corruption)
If using a POP/IMAP account stored in a .pst file, a damaged data file can cause send/receive errors:
    2. Check account/server settings
Error 0x800CCC0E is listed among connection errors that can be fixed with the same methods as:
      • “The server could not be found”
      • “Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server” Actions typically include:
      • Verify incoming (POP/IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) server names, ports, and encryption type match the settings from the email provider.
      • Ensure authentication is enabled for the outgoing (SMTP) server if required by the provider.
    3. Check for interruptions or timeouts
The same troubleshooting methods apply to errors like 0x80042108, 0x80042109, 0x8004210a, and 0x8004210b, which are also connection/time‑out errors. If the server is slow or temporarily unavailable, retry later or contact the email/ISP support to confirm server status.
    4. Check security software/firewall
Even if other apps connect, a firewall or antivirus email scanner can block Outlook’s specific ports or process. Temporarily disable email scanning or firewall rules for Outlook (without disabling overall protection) and test again. If it works, adjust the security software configuration to allow Outlook traffic.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, contact the mail provider or ISP with the exact error code 0x800CCC0E and confirm the correct server settings and any special requirements.
