Hi اياد طارق فاروق محمد ابراهيم,

I understand how disappointing this can be when you’re simply trying to add an extra layer of protection to your account.

Unfortunately, at the moment, Microsoft isn’t able to accept Egyptian phone numbers (+20) for account recovery or security verification, you may see the message “We don’t support that country code. Add an email instead.” This message comes from the current account security system and isn’t related to your phone number or how it’s entered. Support for phone numbers can vary by region and may change over time as services are updated.

In the meantime, you can still keep your account well protected using other supported security options:

    • Add a recovery email address, which can be used for verification and account recovery.
    • Enable Microsoft Authenticator, which provides strong protection and doesn’t rely on SMS messages.

I know it’s not ideal if you were hoping to use your phone number, but these options will still help keep your account secure while phone number support continues to evolve.

If you’d like help setting up Microsoft Authenticator or reviewing your security settings, feel free to let me know, I’ll be happy to assist.
