Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
To reinstall Office Home & Business 2016, use the Microsoft account that the product is linked to and then install from there.
- Go to the Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services.
- Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to redeem/activate Office Home & Business 2016.
- In the list of products, locate Office Home & Business 2016.
- Select the Install option next to it to download the installer.
- Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen steps to complete installation.
If Office Home & Business 2016 was obtained through the Microsoft Workplace Discount Program, it is available only for Mac. In that case:
- Confirm the product under the same Services & subscriptions page using the Microsoft account (not the work email).
- Use the “Install or reinstall Office 2016” guidance from the Workplace Discount Program article if needed.
If Office needs to be reinstalled after a Windows recovery, follow the reinstall steps for Office 2019, Office 2016, or Office 2013 from the dedicated recovery article, which also directs back to the standard reinstall instructions.
