When I launch Excel Each Morning, I am getting a "Payment Issue" message

I had a payment issue with the auto renewal of my Microsoft 365 account. I went into my account and paid. Each time I launch excel, I get the message one time per day. I click on my initials in the upper right, click on My Account and when I am there it shows I am good subscription wise until next year. I reinstalled Microsoft 365 as well. Any help would be appreciated.

The recurring “payment issue” banner usually means Office on the PC is still tied to an old or conflicting subscription state, even though the Microsoft 365 subscription has been successfully renewed.

Use these steps to clear it:

    1. Confirm the subscription is active
      • Close Excel and all Office apps.
      • Go to the Microsoft account Subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services
      • Sign in with the same Microsoft account shown in Excel (click initials in the top-right of Excel → check the email address).
      • Under Microsoft 365, verify the subscription shows as active and not expired or suspended.
    2. Verify payment information
    3. Refresh the license inside Excel/Office
      • Open Excel.
      • Go to File → Account.
      • Make sure the account listed under User Information is the same one with the active subscription.
      • Use the option to Update license or sign out and sign back in with the correct Microsoft account.
      • Close Excel and reopen it to see if the banner disappears.
    4. If the message persists after renewal
      • If the subscription was renewed using a product key (card/box or email code), ensure the key has been redeemed; the subscription does not start until the key is entered or the email link is followed.
      • Check the online renewal status and expiration date again. If the date or status does not look correct, contact Microsoft Support from the subscription page.

If, after confirming the subscription is active, payment info is valid, and the correct account is signed in, the banner still appears daily, contact Microsoft Support for Microsoft 365 Family or Personal so they can check the account and license state on the backend.
