Outlook.com and Microsoft accounts cannot be reconfigured here, and account settings cannot be changed on behalf of any user.
To receive personal email on a personal Microsoft/Outlook.com account instead of a school account, use these approaches:
- Use the correct account for personal email
- Sign in to your personal Microsoft account (for example, the one based on your Gmail address) at Outlook.com or in the Outlook app.
- Use the school account only for school-related mail. School accounts are controlled by the school’s IT admin and may have protection policies that block or filter messages.
- Check and adjust security/verification methods (work or school accounts)
- If using a work or school account and having sign-in or access issues, sign in to the My Account portal: https://myaccount.microsoft.com
- From there, open Security info to view or manage verification methods. If needed, add a non‑school email as a verification method by following the documented steps.
- If emails are being blocked or not received on a school account
- This is usually due to organization security or filtering policies. Only the organization’s IT admin can change those protections. Contact the school’s IT support and explain that important messages are not being delivered.
- If unable to sign in or manage a personal Microsoft account
- Use the Microsoft account self‑help and support options listed under Account & Billing Help and related support entry points.
No protection or filtering can be disabled from here; spam, security, and policy controls are managed either by Microsoft’s automated systems (for personal accounts) or by the organization’s admin (for school accounts).
