Hello,

I'm trying to add a new user account for my son. I made him a Microsoft account, but when I click "sign in," the screen doesn't change. How can we access this user? It does have the ability to log in. Thanks!

    Hello Lynczy,

How you add/create a new account for your son?

To add a new Microsoft account to a Windows PC, go to Settings > Accounts > Other users (or Family & other users) and select Add account. Enter the email address of the Microsoft account, or create a new one using "I don't have this person's sign-in information," then follow the on-screen prompts.

    User's image

Note: Recent security updates, specifically the February 2026 update KB5077181, are causing widespread network issues on Windows (if it's installed on your pc better to rollback/uninstall it)

    Hello

Is your son's account currently in your Microsoft Family group?

If so, go to Settings > Accounts > Family, scroll down and find his account listed, and change it to "allow sign in". Restart the computer, and his account should be listed for sign in.

If your son is not in your family group yet, based on his profile's dob, is he an adult or a minor? If he's a minor, you need to invite him to join your family group first, then you can use the method above.

If you have already done the above, can you tell me, where did you click "sign in" exactly when nothing happened?
