How to move files to another location

I have saved files I scanned and also downloaded. How do I move them to another file?

For downloaded files, by default, it should be in your Downloads folder, which you can head to in File Explorer, find the files, locate it, and select it, use Ctrl +C to copy it, then go to the folder you want to move it to, use Ctrl+V to paste it.

As for scanned files, it would really depend. Not all softwares save to the same folder. But some common locations to look for is Pictures\scan, or Documents\scan, see if you can find them there.

To move files to another location (for example, from Downloads to Documents) in Windows 11 using File Explorer:

1. Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
2. In the left pane, select the folder where the files are now (for example, Downloads, Pictures, or Desktop).
3. In the right pane, locate the files or folders to move.
4. To select more than one item, hold the Ctrl key while clicking each file or folder.
5. With the items selected, go to the Home tab at the top.
6. Choose one of these options:
   • To move: select Organize > Cut, then go to the destination folder (for example, Documents) and select Organize > Paste.
   • To copy instead of move: select Organize > Copy to, then choose the destination folder (or Choose location... to pick another folder).

If moving files to another PC without using the cloud, first copy them to an external drive from the old PC, then copy them from that drive onto the new PC using the same File Explorer steps.
